Performance Review of the Zimbabwe Environment Management Agency - Environmentalist

The purpose of the performance review is to undertake a detailed assessment of EMA governance and technical operating systems, processes and procedures in order to determine the possible quantified and time framed interventions by Government (in terms of governance, systems, capitalisation, etc.) to improve on the Agency’s performance in order for it to deliver on its mandate, vision and objectives in the most economic, efficient and effective way for the realisation of national socio-economic objectives
Education required
Master Degree in Natural Resources Biology, Ecology, Environmental Sciences or other areas relevant to the profile
Experience required
- At least 12 years experience in the sector relevant to the profile
- The expert shall have experience in the following areas : Quantification of ecosystems' service provision and losses ; Waste management and recycling ; Strategies for environmental protection and in particular community based environmental management, and incentives for conservation ; Mainstreaming climate change and environmental protection in legal, policy and regulatory frameworks ; International environmental agreement ; Environmental Strategic Assessments ; Environmental Impact Assessments ; Experience in the SADC Region and/or African Countries
- Experience with organisations responsible for environmental management
- Experience in the SADC Region and/or other African countries
